Go Green

Any brief search of the name Stan Darling is likely to find information about his tireless efforts as a Member of Parliament to stamp out acid rain. Stan was an environmentalist before that term was widely used let alone popular.

His green legacy will always be tied to the signing of the Air Quality Accord by President George Bush Sr. and Prime Minister Brian Mulroney on March 31st, 1991. After signing the document in the Canadian House of Commons, Stan was presented with the pen they had both used.

While not as world-changing as Stan was, we still want to try and do our part to help the environment and do some good locally.

To reduce the amount of paper used in our offices we are encouraging as many of our customers as we can to switch from receiving hard copies of their documents to emailed copies. This simple step will help reduce or eliminate many needless physical copies of our correspondence and increase the speed in which you receive your “papers”.

We know that this may seem like we are just lowering our costs under the headline of being environmentally friendly and will not deny there is a financial benefit with this switch. To show our thanks we will be donating $5.00 for every customer policy we transition to paperless to food banks in Burk’s Falls, Sundridge, Bracebridge, or Gravenhurst.
